What's coming with Gpg4win 5

Gpg4win version 5.x is currently in beta.
You can help by trying it out and reporting issues in our development tracker or to the gnupg-users mailing list or to the forum.



Features

Gpg4win 5.0.0 will have all features from the recently released version 4.4.1. In addition these new features are available:

  • Post quantum resistant encryption using FIPS-203 (Kyber) in a composite scheme with classic ECC as second public key algorithm.
  • All binaries are now build for Windows 64 bit and it will thus be possible to install it on Windows machines without support for the 32 Bit emulation.
  • The GUI parts are now using Qt version 6 and thus can make use of the latest software improvements in KDE.
  • The build system has been modernized.
  • GnuPG 2.5 is used.

Known bugs

  • Minor bugs are for sure lingering around ;-)
